The Books of Kings
The historic book of the Kings is more than just an historical narrative. In these precious pages, the editor/author of Kings reveals to his readers the character of God and the character of man. When humans obey God, circumstances always work out for the best. However, when people disobey God things always work out for the worst. In that sense, people are the same today as they were 3,000 years ago; some obey God and some disobey God. My prayer, as you study the book of the Kings with us, is that you’ll become convinced that unconditional obedience to God is the greatest choice of the will you’ll ever make. Go for it.
